PSX Emulators
In
1994 in a such country, as Japan, a newbie in a game world,
Sony had released a trial console.
Nothing was special, but the console was
very popular: up to summer of 1995 only in Japan were ~1MLN
sold! Feeling this, Sony had released gamepad in USA in
autumn of 1995, where the success was great: 100 000 SPs
were sold only in the first week! Why such success? What
is PlayStation from the technical side: 32bit RISC processor
R3000A at 33-34 MHz, 3D accelerator (now it's totally obsolete,
but that time...), ability to execute 80 MLN operations
per second, 24bit sound (Dolby Surround), 16.7 MLN colors
at 640x480 screen resolution, 2MB of memory, 512KB of sound
memory and a double speed CD-ROM. Now it may seem funny,
but that time it was revolutionary - there was no a console manufacturer,
that had thought about CDs. Sony PlayStation will remain
in hearts of many gamers cause it was the first, who began
supporting realistic games...
Without the emulator the
game will not go! The game is not simply ".exe" file
but the file where the cartridge memory is copied. The
emulator is necessary for start of game.
We try to collect about every
emulator so much as possible information, so bellow this
page you could see them, and when you click on them, you
can read emulator history and could download all necessary
files.
Here you'll be able to
obtain basic details about each and every emulator as well
as the possibility to download the latest and older version,
get additional tools for each emulator, find solutions for
bugs and much more - just click on the emulator of your choice
on the left and you'll get to the proper subpage with further
menues.
But what if you are a first time visitor to this website
and you don't know where to start with emulators ? Then the tables
below are the correct starting point for you - here you can find
rankings to show you how good other users actually rate emulators,
can read reviews written by users, view the PS ranking and get
quick details such as the OS an emulator runs it, if it enhances
games and much more - the tables are pretty much self explaining
I suppose.
After you decided which is the right emulator for you, you should
always check out the FAQ pages which
contain many hints and tutorials which will help you to get the
emu configured properly to ensure you the best experience with
it !
